Big Map/Little Map The Big Map/Little Map buttons enlarge or decrease the Map Display area. Identify The Identify tool selects an individual parcel and generates a Site Report containing descriptive information regarding the parcel. To use, click the Identify button, position your mouse cursor over a desired parcel and click the left mouse button. The Site Report is created and placed to the right of the Map Display. The email address is gis@ci.hayward.ca.us Help – City of Hayward GIS Website help Print – Opens print dialogue and page setup New Search The New Search tool selects parcels in the City of Hayward by searching Assessor's Parcel Number (APN), street address, owner’s name, parcel size, and zoning by parcel size. Click on New Search to expand, enter queries into the appropriate fields and press "Search." The application will either zoom into and select the corresponding parcel or provide a list of results if multiple matches are found. Navigation Arrows Surrounding the Map Display are navigation arrows. Use these arrows to pan across the map. Overview Locator Map ![]() The Overview Locator Map is useful when zoomed in to a specific region in the Map Display. It identifies the location of the current Map Display but on a zoomed out regional display. The red box designates the Map Display extent. Pan The Pan tool changes the map extent without zooming in or out. To use, click on the Pan icon, position the cursor over the map, left click your mouse button and, while holding it down, drag the mouse in any direction to drag the map and create a new Map Display. Zoom In/Out Slider Zooming into or out from an area of a map at preset intervals can be accomplished by using this tool. White circles indicate available zoom levels; a brown circle indicates the current zoom level. Click on a white circle to move the map display to the new zoom level. |
